The Source of the Nile & River Cruises

The primary attraction is the geographical point where the Nile begins its 6,650km journey to the Mediterranean.

Source of the Nile Viewpoint: Take a motorized boat trip to the exact spot where the river waters separate from Lake Victoria. You can visit the Speke Monument on the western bank, marking where John Hanning Speke first identified the source in 1858.
Sunset Cruises: Evening boat tours offer a more relaxed atmosphere with birdwatching opportunities and views of the riverbanks as the sun sets over the water.
Bird Watching: The riverbanks and nearby islands are home to over 60 bird species, including kingfishers, fish eagles, and cormorants.
